I know I am dramatic, but wednesday was possibly my. worst. day. ever. Any day as an applebuddy is a bad day, admitted. But this was a particularly bad day. I started out at work at 10:30 am. It was INSANELY SLOW at lunch. I made a whopping $8 in 5 hours of work. As I was finishing my chores so I could get out of there, I was carrying a bunch of plates, not any more than normal, but through some sick twist in the laws of physics they began to fall. I'm still not sure what happened, except that I wound up on the ground, in front of a lot of people and covered in dishes. If the embarassment wasn't enough, I actually really hurt my knee in the fall. Awesome. I finally got outta there and began to drive home for my break between shifts. I decided to take highway 89 - which I never do - so I could stop at the North SLC post office. Well, the post office is closed from 1 -2 - I can't mail my package I really needed to mail, great. Now I'm really pissed. Next thing I know, I see coplights in my rear view mirror. Yep, my day just got better. $75 speeding ticket - first since high school - bringing my net income growth for the day to -$69 and my tears cried up to 100.
I was bawling by the time I finally got home. I only had an hour till my next shift at this point and did what often calms me best - reading baking blogs and lusting after delicious delights. Dan picked up on my treat needing and decided to bake up a recipe for me while I was gone. This was an especially heart felt feat being that his experience in our kitchen amounts to microwaving ramen. And he has to ask where the bowls are for that. Nevertheless, despite some difficulties, he produced Pretzel Cookie Bars for me to find when I got home at 10pm (after a bad dinner shift, I'll spare you the details). It was really the act of service that touched me - but that doesn't mean I didn't eat half the pan in attempt to feel better. I wish I was exaggerating.
END OF THE NO GOOD AWFUL VERY BAD DAY
(till the next awfully bad day when I step on the scale after depression induced treat binges...)
